Community Work Ireland have organised this 1 day event to provide an opportunity for networking, learning and action. It is open to community workers, community work organisations and those interested in promoting, engaging with and integrating climate justice into their work. The need for climate action informed by community work, feminism and climate justices has increased. This event will be a highly participatory and interactive learning opportunity for the purposes of sharing practice, skills and expertise with other community workers, upskilling on information and analysis, network, building solidarity and contacts.

The Role of Community Development in Creating Health Communities
Network Involving Communities in Health Improvements
Initiative: 3 hour workshop
Date: Delivered 3 times yearly
Venue: In various community venues within the Mid Ulster area and online
Delivering Organisations: This course is delivered as part of a collaborative project, funded by the Public Health Agency, between 4 community support networks – Cookstown and Western Shores Area Network (CWSAN) Mid Ulster, Impact Network NI (South Antrim), Northern Area Community Network (NACN), North Antrim and Causeway Rural Urban Networks (CRUN), Coleraine. NICHI stands for Networks Involving Communities in Health Improvement, and we aim to do this by adopting community development values and practices and promoting this with groups participating in the project and Health Alliance NI Network members on an annual basis.
Target Audience: The project aims to support communities who have an identified health and social well-being need or who are aspiring to work towards addressing health and social wellbeing issues. Therefore, it attracts all types of groups with a focus on women, men, young people, older people, people with disabilities, people living in areas of high deprivation, ethnic minorities etc.

Community Climate Action Programme: Practitioners Training Programme
Friends of the Earth, with support from Community Work Ireland (CWI), the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) and the National Women’s Council (NWC), are joining forces to deliver an innovative programme upskilling community work and youth work practitioners to play a vital role in embedding social justice in the transition to a decarbonised and climate resilient future.
Date: May 9th to 11th
Venue: Cloughjordan Eco Village
This residential programme will equip practitioners to support young people and communities, making their voices heard for equitable climate action.

The AIEB Symposium being held in assocation with CWI will provide an opportunity to discuss the current and future role of Community Work and Community Work education and training in addressing the complex and intersecting issues affecting communities today.
The day will include inputs, panel discussion and roundtable conversations. Joij us to sahre your insights and to hear from national and internaitonal colleagues including: Peter Westoby, Murdoch University, Australia; Balume Dube, Donegal Intercultural Platform and ;Think Equality Donegal; Rachael Donovan, Community Praxis Co-op, Australia; Clare MacGillvray, Making Rights Real, Scotland as well as CWI and AIEB colleagues and others form Ireland North and South.

This joint AIEB CWI forum seeks to create a space for Community Workers and Community Work Educators to come together to reflect on the rapidly changing national and global political contexts and the associated issues and challenges posed by these for all involved in Community Work and Community Work education and training.
This forum is part of our continued joint work to create opportunities for Community Workers and Community Work Educators to share information and to learn from others. It will focus on the implications for Community Work practice and for Community Work education from:
- The current naitonal context, incuding the Programme for Government and political priorities
- The current global context incudingthe rapidly changing political order and associated issues
